Scholarships

WESTCO is pleased to announce several scholarships through WESTCO and our affiliates.

The ag economy in our area is very important and there are a variety of opportunities in the agriculture industry. WESTCO would like to help promising students obtain the education they need to secure positions in our area and in the field of agriculture. These scholarships are one way we can do this.

2024-25 scholarship opportunities include:

WESTCO $1,000 Scholarship

    Applicants must:

• Be enrolled and able to attend a college or trade school in the Fall of 2024.
• Plan to return to the WESTCO trade territory following graduation.
• Include a typewritten, short essay on “What do you think are the most important issues facing our world today?”
• Include a copy of current high school transcript (showing GPA) and schedule.
• Submit the essay, transcript, class schedule, application and senior photograph to WESTCO at P.O. Box H, Alliance, NE 69301 by March 15, 2024.

 Nebraska Cooperative Council Education Foundation Michael S. Turner Scholarship Program and Robert C. Andersen Scholarship

• University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources is offering seven $3,000 scholarships in honor of Michael S. Turner – one to an incoming student and the balance to upperclassmen – majoring in agribusiness or agricultural economics; Two Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture at Curtis $2,000 scholarships to students majoring in agribusiness or ag production systems; One $3,000 University of Nebraska-Kearney scholarship to an upperclass student majoring in agribusiness.
• One $3,000 scholarship in honor of Robert C. Andersen to an upper-class student majoring in agribusiness or agricultural economics.
• Applications must be submitted electronically by April 15, 2024.
